Top 20 Australia’s top emerging photographer – Wedding // Highly Commended Australia’s top emerging photographer – wedding
Pretty stoked to receive a couple of emails from the gang over at Capture Magazine in regards to some news from the 2018 annual emerging photographer awards. These awards showcase artist who have been shooting for less than 4 years full time as a photographer and are considered as emerging. Pretty clever way to showcase all the new talent and innovation in a few different fields of photography. I particularly like this event as it showcases a lot more genuine and real imagery. One of the main criteria is that composite work is not aloud in the wedding category. In other words, no “photoshopping” or manipulation of imagery is aloud. So this platform showcases all real genuine moments which aligns heavily with my work and continued direction.
I submitted two portfolios and was shortlisted to the top 20 in Australia for one and also recognised and highly commended for the second portfolio.

“Who is Australasia’s Top Emerging Photographer 2018? We can now finally reveal the winner of our annual contest to discover the next generation of the best emerging talent across the region.
Now in its 10th year, in 2018 the competition attracted a total of 924 entries (5,544 images submitted) across the 10 categories. In order to arrive at the category winners, a total of 460 votes were tallied, before being checked, rechecked, and then weighted. A further 170 votes were tallied in order to arrive at the overall winner and overall runner-up. We relied on an expert panel of judges comprising 35 top industry experts from Australia, and around the globe.”
