Danielle & Pete – St Michael’s Archangel – Mandoon Estate Wedding
There is a lot of truth in the saying that ‘Your vibe attracts your tribe’. I still find myself being pretty sceptical when I connect with complete strangers and for some reason they are being super friendly. It’s stupid really. I think I send a pretty positive vibe out into the universe, weather its through my personality or through my photography. I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’m still surprised when I come across crazy friendly crew and I never take these chance encounters for granted. The family and friends surrounding the people and the experience that comes with their wedding, well thats no surprise. Danielle & Pete were no exception.
Both Danielle & Pete took some time out of their busy schedule to hang at the beach with me. I totally freaked them out when I started talking about all these cheesy wedding poses I was going to teach them. LOL! Gross! The real deal was to get them to go and play so I could kick back and see how they gelled together. It was pretty uplifting for me, watching them play. I knew were were going to have a ball.
Boom! The wedding day snuck up and it was show time. Time to meet all the incredible family members that have helped shape Danielle & Pete along the way. Plenty of hugs were being thrown around which was perfect. I’m a hugger so that suited me just fine. The ceremony was about to kick off and the calming energy that follows Father Joe filled the amazing St Michael’s Archangel Church. I have managed to shoot a heap of weddings with Father Joe. He always creates the best atmosphere and has everyone laughing and joining in.
Something pretty cool happened during the ceremony though. Only for a few brief minutes, the whole church went dark while a beam of light bathed Danielle & Pete as they stood together. I can’t say that I have ever photographed a ghost or anything spooky like that, but nearly every wedding, I notice the light touching people in an unusual way that can only be described as a coincidence. What really is a coincidence though?
I notice as they day went on, Pete’s heart was jumping out of his chest more and more. There was a particular point when he just couldn’t believe his luck to get to this place and time. Full respect brother, full respect.
These guys were a dream to shoot. Heaps of fun and up for anything. We could have shot all day but it was time to get stuck into the reception at Mandoon Estate. Great Perth Venue that I have enjoyed shooting at this year. Good service and the food is killer! Not long after Danielle & Pete burst into the reception, they set the dance floor on fire for their first dance. I mean they danced the shit out of it! Turns out they had an uncle who was a champion dance instructor and they didn’t skip a beat.
Anyways, thats enough rambling on. I’m starting to sound like a hippy haha! I picked a couple of fav images from their wedding so I hope you enjoy them to.
